Bilbao (Basque Country): 30 November-2 December

III Conference on Solidarity and Human Rights

In 1996 a group of workers (teachers, professors and administrative staff) of the University of Basque Country, created a solidarity fund (UPV/EHU 0.7% Solidarity Fund “Poverty and Solidarity”). Since then they have contributed 0.7% of their wages to finance some NGO projects, particularly in the areas of literacy and primary education.

The association proposes activities to strengthen links between the members of the University of the Basque Country and other parts of the world by combating economic and social inequality.
